“Say I Can with iKan” gets an Honorable Mention Award from iKan

After a long wait, our efforts are rewarded and “Say I can With iKan” receives an Honorable Mention Award from the celebrity judging panel for the iKan Video Contest 2011. It was a team effort from an already existing team of friends and full time compositors. I can’t thank everyone enough for believing in the script and staying late at the office for a couple of days so we could wrap up the shoot. This was my first writer / director experience and I loved it!

Franz Brandstaetter, you are a LEGEND… staying up with me until 3am before the deadline to finish off the VFX and grading while I finished the edit. This talented man was also DOP and cameraman on this little short. Stay tuned to this section as Franz and I will be working together to present a couple of interesting projects next year.

Qian Han somehow managed to show up with some prefessional sound recording equipment on the day of the shoot after a quick evening lesson from her husband, the night before, on how to use it! YOU ROCK!

Katherine Hunt, thank you for showing up and joining me on all my cinematic adventures. I’m hoping that sometime soon you’ll get the credit you deserve as an actress.

Kuba Drewa who not only acted for us but somehow ended up holding the clapperboard when he wasn’t in the scene. All hands on deck!

Mark Pinheiro even though you couldn’t stay for the second evening shoot and we had to change the script last minute… you still added a “touch of genius” to the short with your strop! Thanks for helping out.

Mike Flood only had a couple of days to put the score together and pulled it off brilliantly. It takes a lot to join a team without knowing most of us previously, so thank you for joining us and I hope to work with you again in the near future.

Let me say a big big Thank you to YOU, Caroline! You came up with this brilliant idea, even though we were having a lot work in our daytime job, you made the effort to make a script out of it, organized lights, actors, and even a massive slider rig for me to play with (this sounds funny I know), you didn’t lose your nerves when we showed up completely wrecked at our first day of shooting ( and yes the material was wobbling and out of focus ) , and you were a great director on set and behind your editing station. I really enjoyed working with you – it was pure Fun! Let’s keep it coming, and for starters this result is amazenzie 🙂
